At Radboud University’s Donders Institute, Prof. Peter Desain led pioneering research in brain-computer interface (BCI) technology to explore new ways for individuals to communicate using brain responses alone.

Building on this innovation, the team spun out of Radboud University to form MindAffect, in partnership with NLC, the leading HealthTech venture builder in the Netherlands.

MindAffect successfully secured  foundational patents for our BCI/AI technology and received the ALS “Prize for Life” for our early brain-response–based communication speller prototype.

Leveraging our technology, we began developing objective hearing and vision assessments to support sensory evaluation in a wide range of patients, including children, individuals with disabilities, and older adults who may struggle to communicate.
