R&D (Certification) Engineer

Job Summary (0.8 - 1.0 FTE):


We are looking for an experienced, dynamic solution-oriented R&D Engineer to finalize the
development of the Aurora, our validated EEG-based hearing prototype, into a medically
certified product ready for market launch.

Responsibilities and Duties:


You will be working as part of our team to finalize the development of our novel EEG-based hearing testing system, The Aurora. In addition, you will be responsible for dealing with quality
assurance, and issues relating to achieving regulatory compliance.

  • Support the final product development, including; hardware, software, user experience design, performance validation, and results presentation with our hardware partner

  • Manage the medical certification process including clinical trials and QMS application with
    our external certification partner

As we are a small team, you will be doing many of these tasks yourself -- so this is an excellent
opportunity to get experience in all aspects of neuro-tech product development.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Masters Degree (PhD preferred) in numeric or life science discipline -- such as
    Neuroscience, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Medical engineering/Product Design,
    Biology or Audiology

  • Experience in Class 2a medical certification in the EU & US including QMS, EU MDR ISO
    14155, ISO 13485, and ISO 1497 as well as the design, implementation and analysis of
    clinical trials

  • Some experience in user experience research

  • Some experience in signal processing, machine learning, basic neuroscience and/or EEG
    analysis - knowledge of audiometry is a bonus

  • Good knowledge of Python

  • Willingness to work on different aspects of project management and system design

  • Good organizational and process management skills

  • Ability to join team during the week at Company offices in Ede, Netherlands

  • Minimum of 2yr work experience
